I Couldn’t Afford the Setup Everyone Told Me I Needed
When I started at 17, I was working at Panera, going to high school full time, and starting with only a few hundred dollars. I didn’t have the budget to buy everything other installers recommended or take on the added cost of storing lights.
I eventually realized that copying the same setup as established installers didn’t make sense for someone in my position. I found a more practical way to start with saving on cost of materials and homes that were easier to serve without overcomplicating the business. That first season brought in more than $20,000 and gave me the foundation I still build from today.
